Payment is expected in full before work is done.
Shop calls and drop off work is by appointment only. $50 penalty for customers not keeping their appointments.
I do not keep regular, predictable shop hours.
Any machine here for over 30 days costs $25 extra for storage, plus $10 a week after that (slow payers take note).
$25 extra labor cost for evening work, weekend work, holiday work, rush jobs, and local shop calls.
I specialize only in Shopsmith Mark V headstocks, I don’t service add on tools or other brands or lawnmowers, etc! I don’t work on any of the clone machines or imitations. I don’t work on Mark VII’s, Mark II’s, Mark 7’s, Sawsmiths, etc. JUST MARK V HEADSTOCKS!
I reserve the right to refuse service or sales to anyone without reason.
I don’t do any cosmetic work (other than painting at request, and for extra cost) such as sanding, rust removal, dent removal, paint removal. I only do work affecting performance of the machine.
I accept payment by cash, check, credit card or Paypal. No tool trades or chickens/goats. Work is not done until payment is received. I reserve the right to allow clearance time for personal checks. No price haggling or dickering.

I try to reuse or recycle all packing materials you send. However, no guarantee you will get the same boxes back so don’t send anything special. Also, heavy items such as crates, blankets or heavy boxes won’t be returned. Oversized boxes are rarely returned. Blankets and clothing are donated to dog rescue services, or charities. I won’t reuse fiberglass or other insulation materials if included.
If you want to watch me work it is fine, but don’t try to help, and stand back.
Shipping: I typically ship parts and repairs only on Tuesdays and Fridays but that may change due to weather, vacations, and holidays.

I usually work on bad weather days and save the nicer days for bike rides and outdoor activities.
